Convicted N.J. pharmacist gets license pulled for running internet prescription scheme
Peter J. Riccio, a New Jersey pharmacist, has been stripped of his license for at least five years after operating an illegal online scheme linking patients with prescribers outside of New Jersey. The patients, primarily seeking addictive painkillers, were given prescriptions upon completing a “patient questionnaire.” Riccio was sentenced to $45,000 in fines and is also responsible for almost $15,000 in legal costs.
