Doctor prevented from practicing

Dr. John E. Maye, of Rochester, New York, was convicted of unlawful distribution of controlled substances and cannot practice medicine until the state Department of Health holds a hearing to determine any sanctions. Maye worked from his home as a “telemedicine consultant” providing medical consultations online and via the telephone for those patients wishing to purchase medications over the internet. The hearing is scheduled for February 19, 2015.
