Fake medicine worth $7 million seized across Asia: Interpol
An operation led by Interpol encompassing 13 Asian countries resulted in the seizure of $7 million worth of counterfeit drugs. Antibiotics, anti-hypertension and even rabies drugs were confiscated from hundreds of pharmacies including dozens of online pharmacies. Throughout the course of the operation, 87 individuals were arrested. Participating countries included: Afghanistan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
