Govt task force recommends stringent rules for online pharmacies

India’s Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) has set up a task force consisting of three sub-groups to make recommendations on measures impacting the development of manufacturing capabilities in varying areas of pharmaceutical production. One of the sub-groups, concerned with the lack of regulation over online pharmacies, has recommended stringent rules, including a complete ban on high-risk drugs and mandatory licensing of the physical premise where online orders are processed.
