Maha government for invoking IT Act on illegal online medicine sales

The Mararashtra government said it would recommend that those selling medicines online without prescriptions be prosecuted under the Information Technology (IT) Act. Congress MLC Satej Patil said illegal sales of medicines online should be treated as a cyber-crime. Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies minister Girish Bapat told the legislative council that the government has not given any permission for online sales of pharmaceuticals.
