Meaningful use hardship exemptions clears Congress: Dubious Online Pharmacy Dinged by U.S. Government

The annual “Notorious Markets List” (https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/USTR-2015-Out-of-Cycle-Review-Notorious-Markets-Final.pdf) has been published and identifies those that “facilitate substantial copyright piracy and trademark counterfeiting.” This year it lists Rebel, a Canadian-based online domain registrar that licenses a large number of illegal online pharmacies. Rebel holds approximately 17 percent of the illegal online pharmacy market. The U.S. Trade Rep says, “One submission estimated that Rebel sells domain name registration services to 4,850 illegal online drug sellers.” Related information can also be found in the CircleID article authored by ASOP Global Executive Director, Libby Baney, entitled, “Cheers! Registries and Registrars Doing the Right Thing by Patients.”
