Rwanda: RNP, Interpol Meet Over Counterfeits, Pharmaceutical Crimes

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) in coordination with Interpol brought together various Rwandan partners including the RNP Anti-Counterfeiting and Illegal Pharmaceutical Unit, ministries of Health, Agriculture, Trade and Industry, Revenue Authority, Standard Bureau, and National Pharmacy Council for a four-day workshop on anti-counterfeiting and pharmaceutical crimes.  The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Juvenal Marizamunda, commented, “It is sad to realize that we live in a world in which some criminals are willing to maximize profits by selling counterfeit products but it is a reality we must face and ensure we are more proactive in dealing with them.”
