Sleeping tablets with potential to become ‘addictive’ available online, experts warn

Zopiclone, a sleeping aid with addictive tendencies, should require a doctor’s prescription however, it is easily found for sale in online pharmacies not requiring a doctor’s prescription.  The drug is usually only prescribed for 2-4 weeks because of addictive and dependence concerns.  Researchers were able to identify 37 websites selling the tablets.  While most sites (24) included a warning over the dosage, only one website stated that a prescription was needed.  Additionally 22 sites stated that no prescription was necessary for the tablets.
