The National Conference, addressed to consumers, patients, health professionals and stakeholders, began with a general overview of the Fakeshare Project, their objectives and actions involved.
In this Conference were disclosed the initial results of a survey on the profile of the buyer of medicines over the Internet, highlighting differences in outcomes between countries and genders of the sample.
The Conference had the privilege to have the participation of the Organizations of Consumers and Users, a country leader in the defense of consumers, who described the situation of the buyer in the sales of medicines over the Internet.
The Agenda continued with interventions by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices, the Regulatory Authority of Mexico and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency of the UK which explained, with case studies, the actions that their organizations conduct in the fight against the illegal sales of medicines over the Internet.
The panel discussion on the Operation Pangea, allowed participants to learn first hand about the activities carried out by various national and international organizations in the fight against the illegal sales of medicines.
Among the participating organizations were Interpol, national security forces, and the laboratory of the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices. This opportunity to bring together such a wide spectrum of organizations gave a complete view of the complementary activities carried out by the different organizations involved.
