At a recent Interpol conference, Assistant Garda Commissioner, John O’Mahoney, spoke regarding the increasing number of Irish consumers using the internet to purchase medications. The cost of medications is one of the significant driving forces turning people to illicit online pharmacies. Other warnings included the lack of quality control and possible patient risks involved with counterfeit drugs.
