The U.S. government has increased pressure on Corporate America to aid in fighting the war on drugs. In 2013, the federal government accused Ross Ulbricht of helping to create the online marketplace, Silk Road. Silk Road allowed users to buy and sell contraband items, mainly drugs, out of law enforcement’s reach. Now the federal government has brought charges against FedEx claiming that they conspired with illicit online pharmacies selling prescription drugs. FedEx intends to plead not guilty and denies the allegations that they were aware of the illicit activities.
