NABP report urges Internet drug website accountability

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy released an updated Progress Report [1] dated July 2015. The report covers the current trends regarding illicit online pharmacies. Within the data, NABP finds that 96% of the 11,000 drug websites visited do not comply with current online pharmacy laws and regulations. Of the sites that NABP lists as “Not Recommended” approximately 85% currently sell prescription drugs without requiring a valid prescription. NABP has also introduced the global .pharmacy Top-Level Domain Program only issuing “.pharmacy” domains to those online pharmacies that are legitimate.
