FDA warns public on fake muscle relaxant

The Philippine’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warning comes on the heels of a medical product alert by the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding fake versions of the drug, Diazepam. The tablets found in Central Africa caused acute dystonic reaction, an involuntary muscle contraction affecting muscles of the face, neck and tongue. General adverse reactions lasted a few days with some reoccurring cases yielding hospital admissions.
