The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about half of illicit online pharmacies are selling counterfeit drugs. Additionally, the WHO estimates the value of the counterfeit drug trade industry to be worth approximately $431 billion annually. Counterfeit versions of Viagra are among the most popular counterfeits being sold through illicit online pharmacies. Chief Security Officer and Vice President for Global Security at Pfizer, John Clark, commented that 78 counterfeit Pfizer medications have been found in over 100 countries.
