The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) issued a detailed report emphasizing the need for international collaboration in the fight against illicit online pharmacies. The report, Internet Drug Outlet Identification Program Progress Report for State and Federal Regulators: October 2015, shows an increase in the volume of illicit online pharmacies and also highlights the need for international cooperation as a critical component in solving this growing phenomenon. One way of combating this issue is through NABP’s Pharmacy Top-Level Domain (TLD) Program. The program aims to keep all consumers safe as only legitimate Internet pharmacies will qualify for the “.pharmacy” domain name.
