Google has increased efforts to eliminate “bad” ads from their site and search features. Per an annual report that Google released, they have thwarted nearly 800 million weight loss scams, misleading drug promotions and otherwise malicious ads. This is a 50 percent jump from last year. Additionally Google shut down almost 7,000 websites which were “phishing” for personal information; suspended 10,000 sites and 18,000 accounts for trying to sell counterfeit goods; and removed ads from 25,000 mobile apps because of privacy violations.
