In a federal lawsuit claiming that FedEx employees delivered packages filled with prescription drugs knowingly to customer in abandoned homes and vacant lots, a federal judge has dismissed the majority of charges brought by prosecutors. FedEx was accused of collaborating with two online pharmacies to ship painkillers and other drugs to customers who they knew didn’t have valid prescriptions. Senior U.S. District Court Judge Charles Breyer dismissed more than a dozen of the 18 charges, citing a careless mistake made by federal prosecutors who named a FedEx subsidiary instead of the parent company.
