956,912 doses of counterfeit medicines have been seized by the Civil Guard in a high-intensity operation against illicit trade of medicines coordinated by the Interpol worldwide. Among the seized medicines are included: 308,962 sexual enhancers; 47,707 muscle mass enhancers; 44,024 psychostimulants; 35,410 vitamin supplements; 1,390 antibiotics and analgesics; 86,970 weight loss pills and other 432,449 units of medicines pending classification. The operation has resulted in the arrest or investigation of 82 people in a total of 30 operations of which 20 remain still active. 798 inspections have been conducted in various establishments such as herbal shops, gyms, sex shops, healthcare products and dietary food shops, in which 146 administrative offenses have been formulated and one criminal offense was detected. In the same way, they have acted against the distribution of counterfeit and illegal medicines over the internet, through illegal enabled entry points and administrative inspections have been performed in unauthorized distribution points.
