Spanish National Conference

The National Conference, addressed to the Spanish enforcement authorities, described the actions taken in the past, present and future, by competent authorities, police, customs and autonomous communities in the fight against the illegal sales of medicines over the Internet.

The Conference started with a general description of Fakeshare I project, including participating countries and organizations, their aims and future actions.

The agenda continued with presentations by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices, the National Police and the Regulatory Authority of Mexico, which related, accompanied by case studies, the actions undertaken by their organizations in the fight against the illegal sales of medicines over the Internet.

The actions carried out by Interpol in the International Operation Pangea were the subject of the presentation previous to the panel discussion, which focused on this great global operation in the fight against the illegal sales of medicines.

Different actions which have been carried out by customs authorities, Guardia Civil, autonomous communities and the laboratory of the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices were described, offering a complete view of the complementary actions undertaken by different national authorities involved in the fight against the illegal sale of medicines.
